What a privilege we had this morning. Elise and I got to do senior portraits for a young lady who is finishing her high school studies this year at home. A few years ago, she was in a car accident and was crippled. She's 20 years old. She can't speak. She's mostly confined to a wheel chair. She can use her right arm enough to drive the chair to some extent, but mostly depends on others for mobility.
She was excited to be doing her senior portraits, though. She had three clothing changes, including a formal dress and homecoming queen ribbon and tiara, and a bouquet of red roses. Her biggest smiles came at the reminder that she was done with school (pretty much like any senior). It was hard work for her to do the session, somewhat tiring, but she loved it. She loved the attention. She loved being treated as someone special. Oh, I hope and pray that she loves the images - not because I need the approval, but because I want her to know how beautiful and special and precious she really is!!
